Crochet has become more popular over the years and is one of the easiest crafts to pick up with only needing a hook, a skein of yarn and a pair of scissors to start.
This Intro to Amigurumi Crochet Course is perfect for those who are looking for their next step in the crochet journey by learning specific stitches and techniques to improve their amigurumi projects. This course is most suitable for those that have completed the 4-week Crafty Yarnz Crochet Beginner Course or are confident with completing Slip Knots, Slip Stitches, Chains, Single Crochets, Half Double Crochets, Double Crochets and beginner to easy techniques.
Get face to face, hands on instruction over 4 weeks building your Amigurumi skills!
Learning outcomes:
As a result of participating in this Intro to Amigurumi 4-week course, students will develop their confidence and skills to start or improve their amigurumi projects.
Students are invited to bring along projects they are currently working on that they may be finding challenging and just need some advice.

This course is most suitable for those that have completed the 4-week Crafty Yarnz Crochet Beginner Course or are confident with completing Slip Knots, Slip Stitches, Chains, Single Crochets, Half Double Crochets, Double Crochets and beginner to easy techniques.

Bookings can made directly through Rutherford Community Education
Students are required to bring their own supplies:
Crochet Hooks – varying sizes (recommended they have at least 3.5mm, 4mm and 7mm)
Cotton Yarn in at least two contrasting colours.
Chenille Blanket Polyester Yarn – 2 contrasting colours. One colour should be light (like white/cream) and one darker (brown/grey).
Black Embroidery Thread
Yarn – DK/8ply weight – 1 main colour, white and black.
Stitch markers
Yarn Needle
Scissors
Notebook and pencil/pen
Positive and patient attitude
The tutor will supply the following materials, which is included in the course fee.

Polyester Fibrefill
Jewellery Wire 20 gauge
Amber teaches the US terminology of crochet, however, she will also touch on UK terminology to explain the differences and how to interpret the patterns accordingly.
Your instructor Amber has been crocheting for 28 years and is a certified instructor with the Craft Yarn Council and American Crochet Association.
